I have just completed my eighteenth year teaching at Lehighton Area High School.

As an instructor of an intense program based on historical understanding, knowledge of technical production, and formal methods of studio criticism, I am pleased to see all of my students work so hard to find happiness and a sense of identity through art. My main teaching concern is establishing an energetic and rigorous studio experience while developing and maintaining a professional rapport with my students.

I have taught as an adjunct professor at Rider University, Northampton Community College, and Lehigh Carbon Community College. In the past, I have served as a cooperating teacher for Kutztown University’s student teaching candidates.

My current studio work seems to have found a thriving energy that balances between the figurative and the abstract. While embracing Far Eastern aesthetic theory of “making,” I am always searching for honest expressions that celebrate life and death, and embrace all that is in between.
