Comic Book-Style Art | Photography

M ichael Kingcaid grew up with more of a traditional art background. He’s been drawing since he’s a young child. After being strongly influenced by the art in comic books, he went to Baum School as a teenager for many classes, including drawing, cartooning, and photography.

He would eventually be drawn towards the digital art world and went to college for computer graphics. Mike graduated from Northampton Community College with two associates degrees from the Communication Design program. He received his degree for Print & Web in May of 2013, and for New Media in December of 2013. While he was there, he won 2nd place in the 2011 Kraus Drawing Competition.

Mike can be considered somewhat of a jack-of-all-trades in terms of art. He’s had experience with drawing in a few different mediums, logos and branding, cartooning, animation, photography, videography, video editing and special effects, and web design. He’s a lead singer and guitarist in a cover and original band, and has even done voiceovers in some animations.

He currently works as a graphic designer for a print shop. He continues to do artistic projects, traditional and digital, as well as freelance graphic design jobs for many clients, including B. Braun. You can see more of his work on his website at michael-kingcaid.com.
